About Us
JOHDEE Mineral Processing was established in 2019 to service the Botswana Mineral Processing Industry. We operate & maintain Masama and Morupule coal processing plants in Botswana.
The Botswana Coal Industry is developing at a rapid pace, in order to facilitate the changing market trends. Experts predict that South Africa will import coal from Botswana in future to replace coal from the depleting Witbank coal fields. Johdee Intends to be at the forefront of these developments.

Morupule Coal Mine
The Morupule Coal Handling and Preparation Plant is located 14KM south-west of Palapye along the A14 highway, the project was successfully commissioned by Johdee in 2023. The CHPP has a nameplate capacity of 250t/h with two stages of wash targeting export and thermal markets. Flexibility is one of its main features as it is able to make various types of sized products.
Plant consists of:
500t/h Double stage ROM Section (Open cast), 250t/h single stage ROM Section( underground), 2,4 km Overland Conveying Section, 12,000 t Radial Raw Coal Stockpile, Primary Dense medium Cyclone Module, Secondary Dense medium Cyclone Module, Spiral Plant, Thickener and Water Reticulation Circuit, Filter Press, Sized Product facility, Middling’s Handling Facility, Discard Handling
Masama Site
The Masama Coal Handling and Preparation Plant was successfully commissioned in 2019. The plant is located on the southeastern part of Botswana edge of the The Masama Handling and Preparation Plant has a nameplate capacity of 250 t/h, which also has the option to increase to 500t/h.

- Dense medium Cyclone Module
- Raw Coal fines Section
- Thickener and water reticulation Circuit
- Filter Press
- Product and Discard Handling Facility
